Silverdale is a borough in Bucks County, Pennsylvania and has a population of roughly 659 (2019).  It’s first name was “Paletown” which was derived from the corner store built by a Henry Kaufman and was fronted by a pale board fence.  The town became known as Silverdale in 1895 and was incorporated as a borough in 1896.  The small-town spirit of current and former residents makes this borough a great place to raise a family.

Silverdale Resources:

Pennridge School District - Pennridge School District, covers approximately 95 square miles (250 km2) with a total population of 45,000 and encompasses eight municipalities, including the boroughs of Dublin, Perkasie, Sellersville, and Silverdale. Bedminster Township, East Rockhill Township, Hilltown Township, and West Rockhill Township also are included.  Pennridge’s administration has had to be very adaptable in recent years as the Pennridge area population continues to grow as an ongoing effect of urban sprawl from Philadelphia.

Pennridge Community Center – A conglomeration of neighbors, colleagues and friends who meet regularly to enjoy the company of others.  Members are 55 years and older.  Their main purpose is to provide activities and build friendships to all who join.

Silverdale Fire Department – The organization of this volunteer fire company began in November of 1914 as a result of a serious fire at the Silverdale Bakery earlier that year.  To this day, the fire company remains 100% volunteer and serves and protects Silverdale Borough and roughly 29% of Hilltown Township.
