East Windsor is a township in Mercer County, New Jersey and has a population of roughly 27,442 (2018).  The township is part of the New York Metropolitan area but directly borders the Philadelphia metropolitan area.  Both East Windsor and West Windsor Township were formed when Windsor Township was split in February 1797.  Windsor Township was named for Windsor, England.
